Mrs Creed was one of the longest serving nurses at the Royal Albert Hospital. Her career spanned the 1940s to the 1990s.
Remembering bath routines, Mrs Creed talks about the lack of underwear for female and male residents and in particular the very basic arrangements for women when they were menstruating. This memory is probably about the late 1940s, and the early 1950s – her first years at the Albert.
The extract here is from an interview by Nigel Ingham with Mrs. Creed, in her own home, on March 21st 2007.
