Following the sale of Brockhall Hospital to the developer Gerald Hitman, in 1993 a memorial was erected on the site of the hospital graveyard. This memorial named all the residents who had been buried there, the vast majority of whom – in stark contrast to the cemetery of St Leonard’s Church next door – had been interred in unmarked plots.

This information is courtesy of Jeff Jones’ website on Brockhall Hospital Cemetery. The list includes his brother, Peter, “whom I never knew – he spent 5 months of his short life at Brockhall and died there at the age of five and a half, 6 years before I was born.”
On top of the memorial is a slab with an inscription. To see what it says please click here to go to the Brockhall Cemetery Memorial Inscription post.
