Arrival in 1927

In this short video extract, filmed in the early 1990s, Frank Cochrane talks about the day of his arrival at the Royal Albert Hospital, Lancaster. The hospital was a large long-stay institution for people now labelled as having learning difficulties or learning disabilities. Frank arrived in 1927 from Crumpsall Workhouse in Manchester. This video also features Bill Lamb (a former resident) and two tutors (Steve Mee and Dave Spencer) along with an audience of students. (Video courtesy of Steve Mee)
