In his interview Julian presents the viewpoint of a boy living at Brockhall, with parents who were both members of staff. Arriving aged 10 in 1970, he left four years later in 1974. His recalled the staff, student nurses, the grounds as well as playing and going to school with other staff children living there at the time. He also remembered a group of Mauritian student nurses.

    I’m the same age as Julian and I also had parents who worked at Brockhall from 1958 to 1986. It was interesting to be reminded of similar experiences although I don’t remember the writer. My mother also worked on Karen ward for many years.
