Includes an interview, and a handful of portrait photos of Herbert Carter, who spend time as a resident at Calderstones.
He was born in around 1938 and went to Calderstones, aged ten in 1948. According to Herbert, he was sent to the institution from a magistrates’ court in Manchester. This was after a series of minor wrong doings. After leaving Calderstones in his early 20s, he then returned for two stays.
